Antioxidant-rich Energy Drinks

These two easy-to-make sport drinks are for energy and post-recovery. Beets are rich in dietary nitrates the body uses to produce artery-dilating and energizing nitric oxide. Spirulina increases fat burning, physical endurance and lowers cholesterol.

Its antioxidant powers are on par with legendary blueberries and it contains the anti-cancer blue pigment phycocyanin plus free radical fighting superoxide dismutase. Wheat Grass is a source of chlorophyll and gives an antioxidant packed boost that alkalizes and energizes. The brown rice-based protein powder I recommend contains all of the essential, non-essential and branched chain amino acids for sports recovery.

2 Large Carrots
2 Red Apples
1/2 inch Fresh Ginger
1/2 Lemon

1 t Novaforme Wheat Grass Powder
1 t PhytoPro-V Protein Powder
1 C Fresh Organic Spinach
1 C Fresh Organic Kale
1 C Fresh Mint
1 Green Apple
1 Red Apple
1/4 t Novaforme Spirulina Powder
2 T Raw Ginger Juice
1 T Fresh Lemon Juice
1 C Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Medium-sized Frozen Sliced Banana
2 C Ice

Method:

For this recipe you will need a juicer and a blender. Place the spinach, kale, mint, red and green apple in the juicer. Juice and set aside. In a blender add the wheat grass powder, spirulina, protein powder, ginger juice, lemon juice, almond milk, banana and ice. Begin to blend. Slowly incorporate the green juice into the blender and blast on high for 30-60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
